Threat actors use agentic AI tooling to find and abuse exposed secrets
Microsoft Threat Intelligence has observed threat actors using the agentic offensive security framework ARTEX to search GitHub for OAuth application secrets, which can be used to compromise the associated OAuth application and perform authenticated actions in the application-s tenant. Agents operating on behalf of threat actors then used the compromised OAuth applications to perform a variety of subsequent actions within compromised organizations.
Hackers Hide Linux Backdoor in Control Web Panel Server to Execute Commands Without Logs
A backdoor has been found hiding in the web server that runs Control Web Panel (CWP), a free panel for managing Linux hosting servers, researchers at QiAnXins XLab said this week. The backdoored web server executes commands that attackers send via web requests, and those requests never appear in its access logs. Installing it takes root access, so the attackers must already control the server.

Wieso Apple hier so langsam vorgeht, bleibt unklar.
Lessons from cybersecurity Black Week
A critical PHP flaw, leaked Linux kernel reports, a poisoned LiteLLM release, and more, all in seven days. Which threats called for immediate action, and which generated more noise than real danger?

Barracuda Networks is your new best friend (Barracuda Email Security Gateway Pre-Auth Remote Root RCE CVE-2026-116606 / CVE-2026-111560)
For context, before we walk through this blog post, it's important to note that Barracuda released several patch files to address CVE-2026-111560 and CVE-2026-116606. [..] As always, we are sharing our Detection Artefact Generator so you can determine your own susceptibility and inform remediation in your own environments.
Hacking on Autopilot: Inside ARTEX Cybercrime Campaigns
Key Points Introduction ARTEX is a Chinese open-source, AI-powered penetration testing platform designed to help security teams assess systems they own or are authorized to test. It uses large language models (LLMs) to coordinate multiple AI agents that plan tests, run security tools, and record evidence of potential vulnerabilities. [..] Agentic hacking platforms like ARTEX, where AI models autonomously drive vulnerability discovery and exploitation, have been observed to be used by various cyber criminals. Check Point Research-s analysis of the current landscape observed more than 1,800 publicly exposed instances for ARTEX alone, showing a massive scale of deployments.
